Who Could ever be tired of Bath

Writes Jane Austen in Northanger Abbey. This tour takes in the places Jane visited, wrote about in her books and where she lived in Bath. Alternatively follow in her footsteps on one of her favorite walks on the outskirts of Bath away from the usual tourist areas.

Life in Lyme and Sidmouth

During the summer months Jane would leave Bath for the coast. Her visits to Lyme Regis inspired events in Persuasion and it is said that in Sidmouth she met a man who could have been the love of her life. This is a day trip to these lovely resorts on the Jurassic coast.

Although the most feted of literary visitors to Bath, Jane Austen is not the only one connected to the city. This tour will introduce you to other writers still famous or now forgotten who have been to Bath past and present.

Beyond the Royal Crescent

The Royal Crescent is possibly the most Iconic image of Bath featured in books and postcards, but it isn’t the only crescent. A short walk up the hill takes you to four more. Come along for stories about the inhabitants, architects and some great views.

Bath in the Blitz

The bombing of Bath in April 1942 and the events leading up to this marked a significant development in the history of ariel warfare. This tour covers why the city was chosen for intensive bombing and the marks the air raids left on the city.

Beyond Bath

The man with the big hat and fat cigar

Come and see the work of Isambard Kingdom Brunel in Bristol. Some of the greatest work by the innovative engineer can be seen on this tour as well as finding out about his life in the city.

King Arthur

The Southwest is firmly linked to the Arthurian tales and this day tour will take in these important sites. Bath is said to be the site of the battle of Mons Badon where a Romano British Chieftain later identified as Arthur held back the invading Saxons. South Cadbury has been linked to Camelot, and Glastonbury to where Arthur was buried and the site of the holy Grail.
